This interesting paper is devoted to introducing and studying the notions of weighted pseudo-periodic functions and weighted pseudo-anti-perio\-dic functions. All necessary definitions as well as some properties of these new objects are given. Moreover, the second-order abstract ODE NEWLINENEWLINE\[NEWLINE{{d^2u}\over{dt^2}}+b(t)A^\gamma{{du}\over{dt}}+a(t)Au=f(t,u(t))\quad \mathrm{for a.e.}\;t\in{\mathbb R},\;\;0\leq\gamma<1\leqno(*)NEWLINE\]NEWLINE with anti-periodicity condition NEWLINE\[NEWLINEu(t+\omega)=-u(t)\;\;\forall \in{\mathbb R}NEWLINE\]NEWLINENEWLINEin a separable Hilbert space \({\mathcal H}\) over the field of complex numbers is investigated. Here, \(A\) is supposed to be a selfadjoint positive-definite operator in \({\mathcal H}\), having only isolated regular eigenvalues which form a sequence diverging to \(\infty\). Under certain assumptions, among them the existence of a small enough Lipschitz constant for the function \(f\), the existence of a unique weighted pseudo-anti-periodic solution \(u\in {\mathcal H}\) to (\(*\)) is proved. The proof of existence is based on the Banach fixed point theorem. An example is given.
