The authors consider two problems. First, they investigate the convergence of cascade algorithm associated with a polynomially decaying mask and a general dilation matrix in \(L_p(\mathbb R^s)\) \((p\geq 1,\;p\leq\infty)\) spaces. Then, they give characterization of the convergence of the cascade algorithms associated with truncated masks. Inspired by some ideas by \textit{H. Han} [1997, unpublished manuscript), it is proved that, under some conditions, if the cascade algorithm associated with a polynomially decaying mask and a general dilation matrix converges in the \(L_p\) norm, then the cascade algorithm associated with the truncated masks also convergences. Error estimates are also pointed out.
