There is a well known relationship between the representation theory of affine Lie algebras and combinatorial identities of the Rogers-Ramanujan type, starting from \textit{J. Lepowsky} and \textit{R. L. Wilson} [Invent. Math. 77, 199--290 (1984; Zbl 0577.17009)]. Feigin and Stoyanovsky (1994) introduced the concept of principal subspaces of a standard module, a new important concept in the study of the interactions between Lie theory and integer partition theory. In this paper, the author continues his work on obtaining recursive equations for characters of Feigin-Stoyanovsky's type of subspaces. He studies the case of modules for the affine \({\mathfrak sl}(3,{\mathbb C})\) algebra. By solving the recursion he obtains new character formulas.
