    In a previous paper [Int. J. Number Theory 8, No. 2, 471--505 (2012; Zbl 1261.11070)], the author has shown that if \(K\) is a quadratic base field with \(p\)-class group of type \((p, p)\) and second \(p\)-class group of maximal class, then the entire \(p\)-class group of \(K\) becomes principal in at least \(p\) unramified cyclic extension fields of \(K\) of relative degree \(p\). The goal of the paper under review is to generalise this to an arbitrary base field satisying the same conditions on the class groups. This is done by calculating the transfers from the second \(p\)-class group \(G\) to its \(p+1\) maximal subgroups, which determine the principalisation type of \(K\). In a particularly interesting application, it is shown that the position of certain \(3\)-groups in their coclass trees (see the paper of \textit{B.~Eick} and \textit{C.~Leedham-Green} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 40, No. 2, 274--288 (2008; Zbl 1168.20007)]) can be determined with similar methods; we refer to the paper for the details.
