The aim of this paper is to undertake a complete study of behavior of solutions for the following Cauchy problem \[ u_t=\Delta (|u|^{m-1}u) + |u|^{l-1}u,\quad u(x,0)=u_0(x),\quad 1\leq m, \;1<l. \] There are some qualitative differences between the cases: \(1<l\leq m+2/N\) and \(l>m+2/N.\) At first the author proves that if \(m\geq 1\) and \(l=m+2/N\) then all nontrivial nonnegative mild solutions of the Cauchy problem blow up in finite time. Next he considered the case \(l>m+2/N.\) In this case, non-negative solutions with ``large'' initial data blow up in finite time and non-negative solutions with ``small'' initial data exist time-globally. The conditions for the existence of global solutions and asymptotic convergence of them to the Green function and the Barenblatt solution are also discussed.
