      Weighted BMO spaces were introduced by \textit{B. Muckenhoupt} and \textit{R. L. Wheeden} [Stud. Math. 54, 221-237 (1976; Zbl 0318.26014)]. Suppose \(w\) is a weight function on \(\mathbb{R}^n\). For a locally integrable function \(f\) on \(\mathbb{R}^n\) there are two ways to define the weighted BMO norm of \(f\) as follows: \[ \begin{aligned} |f|_{w,*} & = \sup\Biggl\{\Biggl(\int_Q w(x)dx\Biggr)^{-1} \int_Q|f(x)- f_Q|dx:Q\text{ being cube in }\mathbb{R}^n\Biggr\},\\ |f|_{*,w} & = \sup\Biggl\{\Biggl(\int_Q w(x)dx\Biggr)^{-1} \int_Q |f(x)- f_Q|w(x)ds: Q\text{ being cube in }\mathbb{R}^n\Biggr\},\end{aligned} \] where \(f_Q= {1\over|Q|} \int_Q f(y)dy\). The authors of this paper established boundedness results for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator \(M\) in these two norms, respectively, i.e, Theorem 1. If \(w\) is in the Muckenhoupt class \(A_1\) and \(\inf\{M(f)(x): x\in\mathbb{R}^n\}< \infty\) then \[ |M(f)|_{w,*}\leq C_n|f|_{w,*}. \] Theorem 2. If \(w\) is in the Muckenhoupt class \(A_\infty\) and \(\inf\{M(f)(x): x\in\mathbb{R}^n\}<\infty\) then \[ |M(f)|_{*,w}\leq C_n|f|_{*,w}. \] Theorems and lemmas were stated without proofs.
