The author defines concepts of presimplicial decompositions, coverings and tilings and develops hull-volume estimates and formulas. Furthermore, various existence results are proved and the relationships between decompositions, coverings and tilings are discussed. The estimates are applied to the convergence analysis of sequences of hull-volumes like those associated with the iterate-sets generated by reduce-or-retreat methods.
