\textit{B. Bagchi, A. E. Brouwer} and \textit{H. A. Wilbrink} [Geom. Dedicata 39, No. 3, 339--355 (1991; Zbl 0734.94019)] proved that if a generalized quadrangle of order \(s>1\) has at least one antiregular point, then all of its points are antiregular. They proved this result by using links with codes. The question was posed whether a geometric proof could be found for this result. It is known that a Laguerre plane of odd order \(s\) is equivalent to a generalized quadrangle of order \(s\) with an antiregular point \(x\). This article presents a geometric proof for the result of Bagchi, Brouwer and Wilbrink by using precisely this link. The motivation for this result arises from the open problem whether a generalized quadrangle of odd order \(s>1\) is isomorphic to the parabolic quadric \(Q(4,s)\) if and only if all of its points are antiregular.
