Let \((\Omega, \mathcal{A}, \mu)\) be a \(\sigma\)-finite measure space. A continuous convex function \(\varphi: [0, \infty) \to [0, \infty)\) is called an Orlicz function if \(\varphi(x)= 0\) if and only if \(x= 0\) and \(\varphi(x)\to \infty\) as \(x \to \infty\). The Orlicz space \(L_{\varphi}\) consists of all complex-valued measurable functions \(f\) on \(\Omega\) such that \(\int_{\Omega} \varphi(\alpha |f(w)|)\,d \mu < \infty\) for some \(\alpha > 0\). It is known that the Orlicz space is a Banach space with the norm \[ \|f\|_{\varphi}= \inf \left\{\epsilon> 0: \int_{\Omega} \varphi\left(\frac{|f(w)|}{\epsilon}\right)d \mu \leq 1\right\}. \] The paper under review considers the operators \(W_{(u,T)}\) given by \[ W_{(u,T)}(f)(w)= u(T(w))f(T(w)) \] on the Orlicz space \(L_{\varphi}\), where \(T\) is a non-singular measurable transformation and \(u\) is a complex-valued measurable function. The author studies the properties of \(W_{(u,T)}\) by using the conditional expectation operator. Composition operators induced by a non-singular map and multiplication operators induced by a complex-valued measurable function on Orlicz spaces were studied in [\textit{B. S. Komal} and \textit{S. Gupta}, Integral Equations Oper. Theory 41, No. 3, 324--330 (2001; Zbl 0994.47032)], weighted composition operators in [\textit{S. Gupta} et al., Int. J. Contemp. Math. Sci. 5, No. 1--4, 11--20 (2010; Zbl 1252.47024)].
