This paper studies the numerical solution of a system of two weakly coupled singularly perturbed convection-diffusion boundary value problems. To solve these problems, the authors use the upwind finite difference schemes. It is well-known that the solution of these systems exhibit boundary layers of different widths. In order to obtain parameter-uniform numerical solutions, one has to use layer-adapted grids. Here, the authors obtain the nonuniform grids via equidistributing the arc-length monitor function. First-order uniform convergence error estimates are derived. Numerical examples are solved to validate the theoretical estimates.
