A classification of invariant almost complex structures on homogeneous manifolds \(M = G/H\) of dimension 6 (up to a covering of \(M\) and a quotient by a discrete central subgroup in a Lie group \(G\)) with semi-simple isotropy is given. It is proved that such invariant almost complex structure with semisimple isotropy necessarily belongs to one of special six homogeneous types (as manifolds they are: \(\mathrm{S}^6\), \(\mathrm{U}(3)/\mathrm{SU}(2)\) for the compact ones, and \(\mathrm{S}^{2,4}\), \(\mathrm{U}(2,1)/\mathrm{SU}(2)\), \(\mathrm{U}(2,1)/\mathrm{SU}(1,1)\), \(\mathrm{GL}(3)/\mathrm{SU}(1,1)\) for the non-compact ones) with some parameters or is a left-invariant structure on a 6-dimensional Lie group. The complete tables of all corresponding structures on the considered manifolds are given in the appendix. For integrable invariant almost complex structures, the authors classify all compatible invariant Hermitian structures on these homogeneous manifolds. Also they discuss integrability properties of these structures and indicate some other interesting geometric properties (including the Gray-Hervella type).
