The paper studies set evolution equations of the form \[ x'(t)=f(t,x(t),X(t),u(t)),\quad u(t)\in U,\quad x(0)\in X_0,\tag{1} \] where \(f:[0,T]\times {\mathbb R}^n\times \mathcal{K}({\mathbb R}^n)\times U\to {\mathbb R}^n\) is a given function, \(\mathcal{K}({\mathbb R}^n)\) is the family of non empty compact sets of \({\mathbb R}^n\), \(U\subset {\mathbb R}^k\) is a compact set and \(X(t)\in {\mathbb R}^n\), \(t\in [0,T]\). Problem (1) appears in the study of population's movements and other individual-populations interactions. After introducing the notion of solution for problem (1), two results concerning well posedness for problem (1) are obtained. An application to measure valued differential equations and several examples motivating this study are provided.
