In this very interesting paper the authors investigate the Yamabe problem on a class of compact Riemannian singular spaces the so called ``almost smooth metric-measure space''. Pursuing a line of thought analogous to the classical work due to Yamabe, Trudinger and Aubin, in the case of compact smooth manifolds, they base their approach on the Sobolev inequality. With its help they prove a quite general existence theorem. The introduced new techniques, based on refinements of well-established concepts, allow the authors to apply their fundamental new tools, introduced in the first part of the paper, to smoothly stratified spaces. Thus the authors considerably extend the scope of the so far existing methods.
