The paper is devoted to abstract operator equations \[ Mu:=B(t)u_t - L(t) u =f(t), t \in (0,T), T \in (0,\infty]. \] The families of operators \(\{B(t)\}_{t \in [0,T]}\) and \(\{L(t)\}_{t \in [0,T]}\) are acting in a complex Hilbert space \(E\). The operators \(B(0)\) and \(B(T)\) are assumed to be self-adjoint. Let \(E^{\pm}(0)\) and \(E^{\pm}(T)\) be the spectral projections of these operators onto the positive and negative part of the spectrum of \(B(0)\) and \(B(T)\). Then the authors study the above abstract operator equation with the boundary conditions \[ \begin{aligned} & E^+(0)u(0)=u_0^+ (T=\infty),\\ & E^+(0)u(0)=h_{11}E^-(0)u(0)+ h_{12}E^+(T)u(T)+u_0^+,\\ & E^-(T)u(T)=h_{21}E^-(0)u(0)+ h_{22}E^+(T)u(T)+u_T^- (T < \infty).\end{aligned} \] Under standard assumptions for the above families of operators as densily defined domain of definition and some positivity assumption, the authors prove existence and uniqueness of Sobolev solutions in weighted Sobolev spaces. Moreover, they study regularity properties of solutions. The authors propose a notion of weak solution and study properties of corresponding sesquilinear forms.
