The present work is devoted to the study of mappings with finite distortion, which were actively investigated in the past. For homeomorphisms with finite distortion whose dilatation is exponentially integrable, a lower estimate of the modulus of continuity is obtained. Further, a non-decreasing function \(h\) from \((0, \infty)\) onto \((0, \infty)\) is called a ``dimension gauge'' provided \(\lim_{t\rightarrow 0+0}h(t)=0\). Given a gauge \(h\), the \(h\)-Hausdorff measure \(\mathcal{H}^h(E)\) of a set \(E\subset {\mathbb R}^n\) is well defined. Now, if a homeomorphism \(f:\Omega\rightarrow {\mathbb R}^n\) is of finite distortion, whose dilatation is exponentially integrable, then the condition \(\mathcal{H}^h(E)>0\) implies \(\mathcal{H}^h(f(E))>0\), und some condition on the function \(h\).
