The volume conjecture relates the large level limit of the colored Jones polynomial to the simplicial volume of the knot complement. An asymptotic expansion of the colored Jones polynomial evaluated at other points will conjecturally be related to the hyperbolic volume of the hyperbolic factors of the JSJ decomposition using incomplete hyperbolic metrics determined by representations associated to the points where the polynomial is evaluated. In addition, the asymptotics of the Jones polynomial captures the Reidemeister torsion and Chern-Simons invariants of associated representations. The paper begins with exact versions of each of these conjectures. The main result of this paper is the verification of the conjecture for the \((2,p)\)-cable of the \((2,q)\) torus knot.
