This paper deals with Wigner ensembles and \(\beta\)-ones in some general case and investigates the relation between consecutive eigenvalue gaps in the bulk of the spectrum with those of the corresponding Gaussian \(\beta\)-ensembles. The authors reconsider a result developed by the authors et al. and prove that the single gap distribution may be expressed by means of the distribution of a single eigenvalue in the bulk of the spectrum or at the edge without coming back to explicit Gaussian matrices. The main idea is based on the Dyson Brownian motion, the De Giorgi-Nash-Moser method, the convexity of local log-gas Hamiltonians and the Hölder regularity.
