The authors consider the Cauchy problem in \(\mathbb R^3\) for the incompressible Navier-Stokes system with variable density, with data slowly varying with respect to the vertical variable. More precisely supposing that initial density \(a_0\in H^2\) and velocity \(\vec u_0\in {\mathcal B}_2^{0,1/2}\cap H^2\) with \(\text{div}\;\vec u_0=0\) are small enough for \({\mathcal B}_2^{0,1/2}\) a suitable anisotropic Besov space, then the corresponding Navier-Stokes system has a unique global solution \(a\in C([0,\infty);H^2)\) and \(\vec{u}\in C_b([0,\infty);H^2)\cap L^2([0,\infty);\dot H^3)\).
