As a refinement of Faran's classification, the authors determine all proper holomorphic maps \(\mathbb{B}_2\to\mathbb{B}_3\) between balls whose boundary values \(S^3\to S^5\) are subelliptic harmonic in the case when, up to unitary transformations on the domain and the range, the holomorphic map is \(\Phi_{\mathbb{A}_0}\) and \(\Phi_{\mathbb{I}}\) in Faran's list. In addition, they introduce the concept of the CR degree of a CR map between spheres \(S^{2n+1}\to S^{2N+1}\), \(N=n\geq 0\), which, albeit not homotopy invariant, can be used for Faran's list to classify spherical equivalence classes. For the case of polynomial maps, they also derive several formulae and estimates relating the CR degree and the algebraic degree of the polynomials used to define the respective holomorphic map.
