The authors develop a spectral theory for the \(q\)-Hahn stochastic particle system and about which they establish some new results such as the Plancherel formulae, the Plancherel isomorphism theorem, the completeness of the Bethe ansatz, spatial bi-orthogonality and spectral bi-orthogonality. They continue with the conjugated \(q\)-Hahn operator, discussing a degeneration of the \(q\)-Hahn eigenfunctions to those of the ASEP, an application to the six-vertex model and XXZ spin chains. The approach is based upon the use of the moment formulae which characterizes the fixed time distribution of the \(q\)-Hahn TASEP.
