    The authors introduce a deformation theoretic framework to explain and broaden a link between homotopy algebra and probability theory. How the presented framework can assist in the development of homotopy probability theory is outlined in a forthcoming paper. Let \(V\) be a graded vector space, and let \(V^{\otimes n}\) denote the \(n\)-th tensor power of \(F\) and \(TV\) \(=\) \(\oplus_{n=1}^{\infty} V^{\otimes n}\). When \(( V, e,a)\) denotes a probability space, then \((V, 0)\) and \((\mathbb C, 0)\) are \(A_\infty\) algebras and the map \(e:V \to\mathbb C\) defines an \(A_\infty\) morphism between these two \(A_\infty\) algebras. Denote by \(E:TV \to T\mathbb C\) the lift of \(e\) as a coalgebra map. Let \(\mathbf a=\exp (A)\) where \(A:TV \to TV\) is the lift of \(\mathbf a:V \otimes V \to V\) as a coderivation, and \(\mathbf a'=\exp( A')\) is defined similarly. Then \(E^{\mathbf{a,a}'}:TV \to T\mathbb C\) is an \(A_\infty\) morphism between \((V, 0^{\mathbf a})=(V, 0)\) and \((\mathbb C,0^{\mathbf a'})=(\mathbb C,0)\). Let \(e_n:V^{\otimes n}\to\mathbb C\) denote the components of the \(A_\infty\) morphism \(E^{\mathbf{a,a}'}\). Let \(k_n:V^{\otimes n} \to\mathbb C\), \(n \geq 1\). Here is the main result: \(k_n = e_n\) for all \(n\).
