The author derived and proved that if \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^2\) is a bounded open set with piecewise \(C^1\) boundary \(\partial \Omega\), then the generalized isoperimetric inequality \[ \left( \frac{\left| \Omega \right|}{\pi}\right) ^{\frac{p+1}{2}}\leq \frac{1}{2\pi}\int\nolimits_{\partial \Omega}\left| x\right| ^{p}d\sigma (x), \] holds true under appropriate assumptions on \(\Omega\) and \(p\), where \(\left| \Omega \right|\) denotes the 2-dimensional volume of \(\Omega\) and \(d\sigma (x)\) is the 1-dimensional Hausdorff measure. Several consequences of the above result are given and its generalization to similar results in the literature are pointed out. As an application of the above result, the imbedding with the best constant in Hardy-Sobolev inequalities are established and proved. Furthermore, a generalization of the estimate in Theorem 17 obtained in \textit{M. Flucher} [Comment. Math. Helv. 67, No. 3, 471--497 (1992; Zbl 0763.58008)] for \(\left| \Omega \right|\) in terms of the Green's function is also derived and proved.
