The main result in this paper is a local normal form for symplectic foliations around embedded leaves, which considerably generalizes a previous result of the authors [J. Differ. Geom. 92, No. 3, 417--461 (2012; Zbl 1262.53078)]. Namely, it is proved that if \(S\) is an embedded leaf of a symplectic foliation with finite holonomy group and surjective ``cohomological variation'', then a neighborhood of \(S\) is isomorphic as a symplectic foliation to a neighborhood of the zero section of \((\tilde S_{\mathrm{hol}}\times \nu_x)/\pi_1(S,x)\), where \(\tilde S_{\mathrm{hol}}\) and \(\nu_x\) are respectively the holonomy cover of \(S\) and the normal space to \(S\) at \(x\). This is a version of the local Reeb-Thurston stability theorem for symplectic foliations. The authors also observe that surjectivity of the cohomological variation is incompatible with the appropriate compactness conditions needed to yield the corresponding global version of the Reeb stability theorem.
