Let \(G\) be a locally compact group. In [Vestn. St-Peterbg. Univ., Ser. I, Mat. Mekh. Astron. 1998, No. 3, 71--74 (1998; Zbl 1090.74590)] \textit{A. A. Zalunina} and \textit{Yu. V. Petrov} introduced property \((T)\) which is a certain rigidity property of topological groups with respect to the irreducible unitary representations. The groundwork for the study of Kazhdan's property \((T)\) ``beyond Hilbert spaces'' has been laid in [\textit{U. Bader} et al., Acta Math. 198, No. 1, 57--105 (2007; Zbl 1162.22005)]. Let \(B\) be a Banach space. A linear isometric \(G\)-representation on \(B\) is a continuous homomorphism \(\rho\) from \(G\) to the group of all invertible linear isometries \(O(B)\). A topological group \(G\) is said to have property \((T_B)\) if, for every isometric representation \(\rho\) of \(G\) on \(B\), with fixed point set \(B^{\rho}(G)\), the corresponding representation on \(B/B^{\rho}(G)\) does not almost have invariant vectors. Bader et al. [loc. cit.] mostly studied the extension of property \((T)\) to \(L^p\)-spaces on \(G\), i.e. \(B=L^p(G)\). There are 5 main results (Theorem 3, Theorem 5, Theorem 6, Theorem 8 and Theorem 9) established in the paper. The paper under review studies property \((T_B)\) in the setting of Orlicz spaces. Hence, all these results are generalizations of the results for \(L^p\)-spaces. In Theorem 5, the author partially generalizes [Bader et al., loc. cit., Theorem A], in Theorem 5 replacing the \(L^p\) space with an arbitrary Orlicz space \(L^{\Phi}\). Moreover, under additional assumptions on the Young function \(\Phi\), the converse of Theorem 5 holds true (see Theorem 6 in the paper). In Theorem 8, for finitely generated groups, the authors show that property \((T)\) implies property \(F_B\) provided the modulus of convexity \(\delta_{B}\) is sufficiently large. However, in Theorem 9 the authors show that a hyperbolic group \(\Gamma\) (which may have property \((T)\)) and an Orlicz space \(\ell^{\Phi\Psi}\) with certain growth conditions on the functions \(\Phi\) and \(\Psi\) does not possess property \(F_{\ell^{\Phi\Psi}}\).
