The notion of bornological convergence was introduced by \textit{A. Lechicki} et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 297, No. 2, 751--770 (2004; Zbl 1062.54012)] as a generalization of Attouch-Wets convergence, [\textit{H. Attouch} and \textit{R. J. B. Wets}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 280, 1--41 (1983; Zbl 0525.49009)]. The comparison of two bornological convergences was studied by \textit{G. Beer} and \textit{S. Levi} [J. Convex Anal. 15, No. 2, 439--453 (2008; Zbl 1173.54002)] for metric spaces, and by \textit{A. Di Concilio} and \textit{C. Guadagni} [Topology Appl. 173, 294--307 (2014; Zbl 1300.54039)] for specific uniformities. In this paper, the authors study comparison of bornological convergences for arbitrary uniformities. For a topological space \(X\), let \(\text{CL}(X)\) be the set of all non-empty closed subsets of \(X\), \(\mathcal{U}\) a compatible uniformity on \(X\) and \(\mathcal{S}\) a bornology on \(X\). A net \((E_\lambda)_{\lambda \in I}\) in \(\text{CL} (X)\) is said to converge to \(E \in \text{CL} (X)\) with respect to \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^-\) (resp., \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^+\)) if for every \(S \in \mathcal{S}\) and every \(U \in \mathcal{U}\), \(E \cap S \subseteq U[E_\lambda]\) (resp., \(E_\lambda \cap S \subseteq U[E]\)) eventually. We say that a net \((E_\lambda)_{\lambda \in I}\) converges to \(E\) with respect to \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}\) if it is converges to \(E\) with respect to both \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^-\) and \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^+\). For two convergences \(\mathfrak{C}'\) and \(\mathfrak{C}''\), we write \(\mathfrak{C}' \leq \mathfrak{C}''\) if every net \((E_\lambda)_{\lambda \in I}\) convergent to some \(E\) with respect of \(\mathfrak{C}''\) is also convergent to \(E\) with respect to \(\mathfrak{C}'\). In this paper, the authors give necessary and sufficient conditions such that \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^-\leq \mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{T},\mathcal{V})}^-\) (resp., \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^+ \leq \mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{T},\mathcal{V})}^+\) , \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}\leq \mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{T},\mathcal{V})}\)) for two compatible uniformities \(\mathcal{U}\) and \(\mathcal{V}\) and two bornologies \(\mathcal{S}\) and \(\mathcal{T}\). They also study necessary and sufficient conditions for \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^-\), \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}^+\) and \(\mathfrak{C}_{(\mathcal{S},\mathcal{U})}\) to be topological, and give necessary and sufficient conditions to compare two bounded-proximal topologies defined by bornologies and uniformities.
