In this paper, combining the symbol calculus of linear differential operators of infinite order and some recent developments of the resurgent function theory [\textit{C. Mitschi} and \textit{D. Sauzin}, Divergent series, summability and resurgence I. Monodromy and resurgence. Cham: Springer (2016; Zbl 1355.34003)], the authors clarify the singularity structure of WKB solutions of the boosted Whittaker equation and explicitly compute the alien derivatives of their Borel transforms at fixed singularities. The key idea is to introduce the space of simple resurgent functions depending on a parameter with infra-exponential type growth order and to discuss resurgent functions with essential singularities produced by them. Using these resurgent functions, the authors successfully analyze the Voros coefficient and its exponentiation for the boosted Whittaker equation from the viewpoint of the alien calculus.
