The paper presents a proof of the Whitney fibering conjecture in the real and complex, local analytic and global algebraic cases. For a given germ of real or complex analytic set, the authors establish the existence of a stratification with a so-called \textit{arc-wise analytic} trivialization property along each stratum: such a trivialization is arc-analytic with respect to all variables and analytic with respect to the parameter space, and can be constructed under the classical Zariski equisingularity assumptions. Under a slightly stronger version of Zariski's equisingularity, the authors obtain the existence of Whitney's stratified fibration satisfying the conditions (b) of Whitney and (w) of Verdier. Their approach is based on Puiseux's theorem with parameters, and on an adaptation of Whitney interpolation to arc-analytic geometry, which allows them to prove that Zariski equisingularity implies arc-wise analytic triviality. In the case of algebraic sets, they obtain a global stratification. Several applications of arc-wise analytic trivializations to stratification theory and equisingularity theory of analytic sets and function germs are also provided.
