\textit{E. Cuchillo-Ibáñez} et al. [Topology Appl. 94, No. 1--3, 51--60 (1999; Zbl 0939.54007)] introduced a topology on the set of shape morphisms Sh\((X,Y)\) turning these sets into topological spaces. \textit{N. Koceić Bilan} and \textit{N. Uglešić} [Glas. Mat., III. Ser. 42, No. 1, 145--187 (2007; Zbl 1131.55005)] constructed a new category pro*\(\mathcal{T}\) having the usual pro-category pro\(\mathcal{T}\) as its subcategory. By simulating the shape category construction Sh\((\mathcal{T},\mathcal{P})\) they obtained the coarse shape category Sh*\((\mathcal{T},\mathcal{P})\) and showed that it is strictly coarser. The authors of the paper under review introduce a topology on the set of coarse shape morphisms Sh*\((\mathcal{T},\mathcal{P})\) and investigate properties of the coarse shape homotopy groups \({\check{\pi}_k}^{*^{top}}(X,x)\) of a topological space \((X,x)\). They are Hausdorff topological groups. Some further properties of these groups are proved such as second countability, movability, preservation of finite products of compact Hausdorff spaces and embedding of \({\check{\pi}}_k^{top}(X,x)\) into \({\check{\pi}_k}^{*^{top}}(X,x)\).
