The authors provide a new proof of an elliptic summation formula proved in a particular case by \textit{I. B. Frenkel} and\textit{V. G. Turaev} [in: The Arnold-Gelfand mathematical seminars. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser. 171--204 (1997; Zbl 0974.17016)], conjectured in the general case by \textit{S. O. Warnaar} [Constructive Approximation 18, No. 4, 479--502 (2002; Zbl 1040.33013)], and finally proved in the general case by \textit{H. Rosengren} [Contemp. Math. 291, 193--202 (2001; Zbl 1040.33014)], \textit{E. M. Rains} [Ann. Math. (2) 171, No. 1, 169--243 (2010; Zbl 1209.33014)] and \textit{H. Coskun} and \textit{R. A. Gustafson} [Contemp. Math. 417, 127--155 (2006; Zbl 1154.05059)]. The idea of the new proof is based on the Jackson integrals and the associated \(q\)-difference de Rham cohomology. A certain family of fundamental \(BC_n\) invariants plays a crucial role in analyzing the structure of this summation. The formulae and results are however, too complicated to be stated here.
