In [\textit{A. Connes} and \textit{D. Kreimer}, Commun. Math. Phys. 199, No. 1, 203--242 (1998; Zbl 0932.16038)] the algebraic Birkhoff factorization is formulated for an algebra homomorphism \(\Phi : H \to R\) from a commutative connected filtered Hopf algebra \(H\) to a commutative algebra \(R\) with a Rota-Baxter operator of weight \(-1\). The present paper transfers this concept to the context where \(H\) is the space spanned by the convex polyhedral lattice cones and \(R\) the space of multivariate meromorphic germs. Here \(H\) is not a Hopf algebra, but can be equipped with a coproduct so that the convolution quotient is compatible with certain subdivision properties. The main results are a generalized algebraic Birkhoff factorization which can be applied to exponential generating sums on the space of lattice cones. The authors show that this algebraic Birkhoff factorization coincides with the Euler-Maclaurin formula on any lattice cone.
