Dirac conjectured that among any \(n\) non-collinear points in the plane, some point is incident to at least \(\lfloor n/2\rfloor \) lines determined by these points. As counterexamples have been found, the conjecture has been relaxed by an additive constant (Strong Dirac Conjecture) and by a multiplicative constant (Weak Dirac Conjecture). The paper shows that some point is incident to at least \(\lceil n/3\rceil +1 \) lines determined by these points, improving the previous lower bound by more than 8 times. The proof depends on results in algebraic geometry constraining line arrangements in the projective plane.
