As complex semisimple Lie algebras are controlled by Weyl groups, Nichols algebras are controlled by Weyl groupoids, in a more complicated way: for example, two nonisomorphic Nichols algebras can give the same Weyl groupoid, and it is not know if any Weyl groupoid can be obtained from a Nichols algebra. A partial answer to this question is given here, with the help of a restriction process constructing new Nichols algebras. More precisely, considering Weyl groupoids as arrangements of hyperplanes, any Nichols algebra gives rise to a simplicial complex decorated by other Nichols algebra. As an application, one obtains a realization of any Weyl groupoid of rank \(\geq 2\) as the symmetry structure of a Nichols algebra obtained by restriction from a diagonal Nichols algebras. Furthermore, these results explains the root system of folded Nichols algebras over a nonabelian group and of generalized Satake diagrams.
