Following the pioneering work of \textit{E. Andersén} and \textit{L. Lempert} [Invent. Math. 110, No. 2, 371--388 (1992; Zbl 0770.32015)] on the affine space \(\mathbb C^n\), one says that a smooth complex affine algebraic variety \(X\) satisfies the algebraic density property if the Lie algebra generated by complete algebraic vector fields coincides with the space of all vector fields on \(X\). In the presence of a volume form \(\omega\) on \(X\), one defines a similar notion for the vector fields preserving \(\omega\). This paper shows that any connected affine homogeneous space \(X = G/H\) which is not a line or a torus satisfies the algebraic density property, and that a similar ``volume density'' statement holds in the presence of a left-invariant volume form \(\omega\). This was previously known only under the assumption that \(H\) is reductive. The main difficult new case is when the ``semi-simple part'' of \(X\) is SL\(_2/\mathbb C^*\).
