In this paper, the stability problem of the positive equilibrium \(u^*\) of the delayed logistic equation \[ \dot{u}(t) = u(t)[1-au(t)-bu(t-\tau)-cu(t-2\tau)] \] is investigated. Conditions on the positive coefficients \(a, b, c\) are derived for each of the following behaviour: (i) \(u^*\) is globally asymptotically stable for all \(\tau \geq 0\), (ii) \(u^*\) is locally asymptotically stable for all \(\tau \geq 0\), (iii) \(u^*\) is stable for \(0\leq \tau < \tau_0\) but is unstable for \(\tau >\tau_0\), i.e. \(u^*\) has a single stability switch point \(\tau_0 >0\), (iv) \(u^*\) has multiple stability switch points for \(\tau\geq 0\). This equation is a special case of the logistic equation with two delays, which has been studied extensively in the literature. But the finding of multiple stability switch points for \(\tau\) in this paper is interesting.
