The quantum systems exactly solvable in terms of classical, exceptional or multi-indexed orthogonal polynomials play an important role in quantum mechanics. The multi-indexed Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials have Wronskian expressions constructed by starting from the Schrödinger equation with the radial oscillator potential and Pöschl-Teller potential by multiple application of Darboux transformations in terms of certain seed solutions generated by discrete symmetry transformations. These polynomials satisfy second-order differential equations, form orthogonal systems, but do not satisfy a three term recurrence relation. In this paper, the authors present some simplified expressions of the multi-indexed Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials, obtained by using various identities satisfied by the Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials. The simplified expressions show explicitly the constituents of the multi-indexed Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials, and lead to a deeper understanding.
