This paper is concerned with the qualitative analysis of solutions of a semilinear elliptic problem with Neumann boundary condition. A feature of this paper is the presence of a general nonhomogeneous differential operator, which extends the standard differential operators. The reaction term of the considered problem is resonant at \(\pm \infty\) with respect to the higher parts of the spectrum. Using critical point theory in combination with truncation and perturbation techniques, Morse theory and the reduction method, the authors prove two multiplicity theorems. In such a way there are given sufficient conditions for the existence of at least three nontrivial smooth solutions, respectively four nontrivial smooth solutions.
