Quantum Schur algebras revisited. (Q531385)

The authors investigate quantum Schur algebras that where introduced by Jimbo. A~geometric construction of quantum Schur algebras was given by Beilinson, Lusztig and MacPherson in terms of pairs of flags in a~vector space. In the paper such pairs of flags are interpreted as representations of posets. Using homological properties of poset representations, a~recursive formula for the structure constants of quantum Schur algebras is given. This formula is related to certain Hall polynomials. It implies that the structure constants of quantum Schur algebras are given by integer polynomials. Moreover the authors give a~direct proof of the fundamental multiplication formulas that are important in the Beilinson, Lusztig and MacPherson realization of quantum \(\mathfrak{gl}_n\).
