      Let \((X,d)\) be a \(K\)-metric space in the sense of [\textit{P. P. Zabrejko}, Collect.\ Math.\ 48, No.\ 4-6, 825--859 (1997; Zbl 0892.46002)], i.e., a cone metric space in the sense of [\textit{L.-G. Huang} and \textit{X. Zhang}, J. Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 332, No.\ 2, 1468--1476 (2007; Zbl 1118.54022)], over a solid cone \(K\) in a Banach space~\(E\). Let \(\varphi:K^5\to K\) be a function satisfying the following conditions: (i)~\(\varphi\) is continuous; (ii)~\(\varphi\) is non-decreasing w.r.t.\ \(\leq_K\) in the 4th and 5th variable; (iii)~there are \(h_1>0\) and \(h_2\geq0\) such that \(h=h_1h_2<1\) and if \(u,v\in K\) satisfy \(u\leq_K\varphi(v,v,u,u+v,0_E)\) then \(u\leq_Kh_1v\) and if \(u,v\in K\) satisfy \(u\leq_K\varphi(u,0_E,0_E,u,u)\) or \(u\leq_K\varphi(0_E,0_E,u,u,0_E)\) then \(u=0_E\); (iv)~if \(u\in K\) is such that \(u\leq_K\varphi(u,0_E,0_E,u,u)\) or \(u\leq_K\varphi(0_E,0_E,u,u,0_E)\) then \(u=0_E\). If \(S,T,I,J:X\to X\) satisfy \(TX\subset IX\), \(SX\subset JX\) and \(d(Sx,Ty)\leq_K\varphi(d(Ix,Iy),d(Ix,Sx),d(Jy,Ty),d(Ix,Ty),d(Sx,Jy))\) for all \(x,y\in X\), the author proves that the pairs \(\{S,I\}\) and \(\{T,J\}\) have a unique point of coincidence, provided one of \(SX\), \(TX\), \(IX\) or \(JX\) is a complete subspace of~\(X\). This result unifies several known coincidence and common fixed point results. No particular examples are given.
