The authors prove some common fixed point problems for nonexpansive maps. In the results, neither linearity or affinity for any mapping is assumed nor the fixed point set of any map being \(q\)-star shaped is required. Let \(X\) be a normed space and \(T\) and \(I\) be two nonexpansive self-maps on the closed convex subset \(C \subset X\). If \((I,T)\) is a Banach operator pair and the closure of \(T(C)\) is compact, then \(F(I,T)\neq \varnothing\). The well-known De Marr's fixed point theorem [\textit{R. DeMarr}, Pac. J. Math. 13, 1139--1141 (1963; Zbl 0191.14901)] is extended to the noncommuting case by introducing the notion of Banach operator family. As an application of the theorem, the problem of the common fixed point in invariant approximation for convex sets is solved in a new fashion.
