The authors study a partly dissipative PDE-ODE system modeling the dynamics of o particular virus (HIV). Considering the model as a dynamical system, the authors prove the existence of a positively invariant region. For the case of an ``alternating structure of viral sources'', an homogeneous limiting environment is defined, matching the classical ode-systems approach to HIV dynamics.
