The authors consider a first order nonlinear neutral delay differential equation in an attempt to extend and unify research done by other authors. The focus of their research is the global existence and iterative approximations of uncountably many bounded positive solutions for the delay differential equation considered. In particular through the implementation of the Banach fixed point theorem they are able to obtain several sufficient conditions for the existence of uncountably many bounded positive solutions of the relevant equation with respect to all ranges of the time-dependent function \(p(t)\) which is a coefficient of the time delayed independent variable. The authors also suggest some Mann iterative algorithms with errors to approximate these positive solutions and establish some error estimates between the sequences generated by the Mann iterative algorithms with errors and these positive solutions. In particular they are able to concretise and move beyond the work of certain key articles: Theorem 3.4 in \textit{Z. G. Luo} and \textit{J. H. Shen} [Czech. Math. J. 54, No.~1, 79--93 (2004; Zbl 1057.34079)], Theorem 1 in \textit{Ö. Öcalan} [Appl. Math. Lett. 22, No.~1, 84--90 (2009; Zbl 1163.34393)], Theorems 3.4 and 3.6 in \textit{J. S. Yu}, \textit{M. P. Chen} and \textit{H. Zhang} [Comput. Math. Appl. 35, No.~6, 65--71 (1998; Zbl 0909.34068)] and Theorems 1--3 and A in \textit{W. P. Zhang}, \textit{W. Feng}, \textit{J. R. Yan} and \textit{J. S. Song} [Comput. Math. Appl. 49, 1021--1027 (2005; Zbl 1087.34539)]. Examples are considered as a means of demonstrating the improvement made upon existing research and the implications regarding the application of the work accomplished in this article.
