The authors solve the Dirichlet problem for simply connected domains with piecewise boundaries on the complex plane. The unknown harmonic functions belong to the variable exponent Smirnov classes. Following Muskhelishvili's approach the authors reduce the problem to the Riemann--Hilbert problem for the unit disk. The later problem is completely investigated. The necessary and sufficient solvability conditions are established. In all solvability cases, solutions are written in closed form.
