Let \(M_{n}\) be the space of all \(n\times n\) matrices with complex entries. For \(X\in M_{n}\), let \(s_{1}(X),...,s_{n}(X)\) be the singular values of \(X\) arranged in decreasing order and repeated according to multiplicity. For \( p\geq 1\) and \ \(1\leq k\leq n\), the \((p,k)\)-norms on \(M_{n}\) are defined by \( \left\| X\right\| _{(k),p}=\left( \sum\limits_{i=1}^{k}s_{i}^{p}\right) ^{1/p}\). In particular, the \((p,n)\) -norms of \(X\) are denoted by \(\left\| X\right\| _{p}\). In this paper, and among other results, the authors establish two remarkable inequalities. The first of them presents a refinement of a result of \textit{K.M.R. Audenaret} [Linear Algebra Appl. 432, 1126--1143 (2010; Zbl 1194.60020)]. These two inequalities assert that if \(X,Y\in M_{n}\), then \newline \(\left\| XY-YX\right\| _{p}\leq 2^{\max \left( \frac{1}{p},\frac{1}{q} \right) }\left\| X\right\| _{p}\min \left( \left\| Y\right\| _{(2),p},\left\| Y\right\| _{(2),q}\right) \)\newline and\newline \(\left\| XY-YX^{T}\right\| _{2}\leq \sqrt{2}\left\| X\right\| _{(2),2}\left\| Y\right\| _{2},\)\newline where \(p\) and \(q\) are positive real numbers satisfying \(\frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{ q}=1\).
