The Erdös-Ginzburg-Ziv constant \(s(G)\) of a finite abelian group \(G\) is an important invariant in zero-sum theory, which is defined as the smallest integer \(l\in \mathbb{N}\) such that every sequence \(S\) of length \(|S|\geq l\) has a zero-sum subsequences of length \(\exp(G)\). For groups with rank at most two, the precise value of \(s(G)\) was determined, but the results of \(s(G)\) are extremely sparse for groups with rank at least three so far. In this paper, the authors found a new method to tackle \(s(C_n^r)\) with \(n,r\in \mathbb{N}\) and \(n\geq 2\), and as an application of the main result, they derived \(s(C_{mn}^r)=c(mn-1)+1\) under some special conditions.
