      As a discrete convolution model for Ising-like phase transitions, \textit{P. W. Bates} and \textit{A.~Chmaj} [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 150, No.~4, 281--305 (1999; Zbl 0956.74037)] derived the infinite system of evolution equations \[ u_n'=(J\ast u)_n-u_n-\lambda f(u_n) \] and proved the existence of a strongly monotone traveling wave solution \(u_n(t)=U(n-ct)\) with \(U(-\infty)=-1\), \(U(\infty)=1\). Here, the convolution operator is defined by \((J\ast u)_n=\sum_{i\neq 0}J(i)u_{n-i}\) under certain summability conditions on \(J(i)\), and the function \(f\in C^1({\mathbb R})\) possesses exactly three zeros \(-1<a<1\) (\(f\) is bistable). In the present paper, the authors prove that this traveling wavefront \(U\) is globally asymptotically stable (for \(c\neq 0\)) with a certain phase shift. This is achieved by constructing various pairs of super- and subsolutions, together with comparison and squeezing techniques.
