The author describes the motion of an inviscid incompressible fluid over a sloping bottom. Mathematically this comes up to find solutions of the three-dimensional time-dependent Euler equations which are periodic in at least one variable and satisfy some mixed boundary conditions one of which is on a free surface. Using the method of introducing Lagrangean coordinates combined with successive approximations it is proved that local strict solutions exist if certain assumptions on the initial domain are valid.
