A Banach space E is said to have the Gelfand-Phillips property, if every subset of E on which weak* convergent sequences of functionals are uniformly convergent is relatively compact. The author proves that if E is a Banach space with Gelfand-Phillips property and T is a topological space possessing a dense subset that is conditionally sequentially compact in T, then the Banach space C(T,E) of all continuous functions from T to E has Gelfand-Phillips property. With the help of the results in this paper, the author deduces the following interesting corollaries. 1. Let T be a locally compact space whose compact subsets are sequentially compact and let \(E\in (GP)\). Then \(C_ 0(T,E)\) is a Gelfand-Phillips space. 2. If X is a Banach space not containing isomorphic copies of \(\ell_ 1\), then X is a Gelfand-Phillips space.
