Polyhedral realizations of the regular maps by \textit{W. Dyck} [Math. Ann. 17, 510-516 (1880)] and by \textit{F. A. Sherk} [Can. Math. Bull. 5, 13-20 (1962; Zbl 0101.409)] are described. They have self-intersections and maximal possible symmetry group.
