The authors are continuing the studies of the second author [J. Appl. Mech. 47, 931--939 (1980; Zbl 0452.58019)] about cell mappings. The state space is considered as a collection of a large number of cells each represented by an integer-valued vector. The cell state space is mapped into itself to get a dynamical system. Norm, neighbourhood, cell multiplet, cell simplex, periodic orbits, invariant sets, attractors, Lyapunov functions are defined. Conditions of attractivity of sets are given in terms of Lyapunov functions. The method is illustrated by several examples.
