The pore pressure profile ahead of an advancing wellbore is calculated for a range of rate of penetrations and permeabilities. Techniques used include numerical solution of integral equations, singular perturbation theory and the Kantorovich Lebedev transform. A two-dimensional (trench) model of a wellbore is assumed, similar methods are currently being applied to the more realistic axially symmetric wellbore.
